With the weather getting colder, it is nice to make a batch of spiced apple cider that will instantly have your house smelling like the holidays. This recipe has few ingredients and is quick to make. Sit down with a book, cozy up by the fire and sip on this small-batch spiced apple cider for one or two. For your holiday party, make an extra-large batch by tripling the recipe and serve with apple slices and cinnamon sticks.
Spiced Apple Cider
Makes 2 large servings
5 cups of apple juice
3-4 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
5 whole cloves (optional)
apple slices to garnish
In a medium size pot, heat the apple juice and spices over medium heat. Continue to stir until the spices have mixed into the juice and the cider is heated thoroughly.
Thinly slice apples to garnish each cup. Place one new cinnamon stick into every glass and fill with cider, making sure to remove the cloves and used cinnamon sticks. Serve warm and enjoy!
