Sweet pears, salty prosciutto, and crunchy walnuts come together in this elegant yet effortless toast. Perfect as a light lunch, appetizer, or fancy snack, it’s all about simple ingredients with big flavor. Creamy cheese adds richness, while a drizzle of honey ties it all together. These toasts are quick to make—but look (and taste) like something special.
Ingredients (makes 2 toasts)
– 2 slices of rustic bread (sourdough or multigrain)
– 2 oz cream cheese or goat cheese
– 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced. Use your favorite variety, we think a Green d’Anjou Pear would “pair” nicely due to their subtle sweet flavor
– 2–4 slices of prosciutto
– 4 walnut halves
– 1 tsp honey
– A few sprigs of fresh thyme
– Olive oil (for toasting)
Instructions
1. Toast the bread: Lightly brush the bread with olive oil and toast until golden and crisp.
2. Spread the cheese: Once the toast is slightly cooled, spread a layer of cream cheese or goat cheese on each slice.
3. Add the pears & prosciutto: Layer thin slices of fresh pear over the cheese, then drape slices of prosciutto on top.
4. Top with walnuts: Add a couple of toasted or raw walnut halves for crunch and flavor.
5. Drizzle & garnish: Warm the honey slightly and drizzle over the toast.
Garnish with fresh thyme sprigs. Serve immediately and enjoy the blend of sweet, salty, creamy, and crunchy!
