Dark Chocolate Fondue with Fruit

Who doesn’t love chocolate?  Especially when it’s paired with delicious local fruits.  This simple dessert is delightful for dinner parties, and easily adaptable based on the season.  It’s also a wonderful dessert for kids, they will love dipping the fruit into the chocolate.

 

Dark Chocolate Fondue with Fruit

Total time: 25 mins

Serves: 4-6

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces of dark chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 4 ounces of heavy cream
  • pinch of sea salt
  • fruit cut into 1-inch chunks: strawberries, pineapple, pears, apples, bananas, and oranges are some of my favorites

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, warm the cream over medium heat until it begins to lightly boil. Add the chocolate chunks and continue to whisk until the chocolate is melted and begins to thicken. Transfer to a small fondue pot, crock pot, or simply serve right away.
  2. Serve with fruit cut into 1-inch chunks arranged on a serving plate, or made into fruit skewers.
