Ingredients

  • 4-5 large Apples (our favorites are Granny Smith, Honey Crisp®, and Cosmic Crisp®)
  • 4-5 Bamboo Sticks or popsicle sticks
  • 1 11oz bag of caramels
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 12 oz of white chocolate
  • 8-10 Oreos-crushed
  • Optional additional toppings: Some of our favorites are chopped almonds, mini M&M’s. coconut, dark chocolate, and sprinkles.

Directions

We’ve made the recipe simple and easy to follow allowing for maximum caramel apple enjoyment!

  1. Start by buttering or spraying a baking sheet with cooking spray so that you have a non-stick resting spot for finished apples.
  2. Wash your apples under hot water to remove any existing wax coating and dry gently and thoroughly.
  3. Remove the stems from your apples and insert the bamboo sticks (pointy end) into the stem end of apples.
  4. Unwrap all caramels and place in a microwave safe bowl, add 2 tablespoons of water and microwave on high for 1 minute, remove and stir and place back into the microwave for 1 minute more. The caramel is ready when it can be stirred easily.
  5. Roll the apples one at a time into the melted caramel until well coated. Lift the apple straight up from the caramel letting the excess drip back into the bowl until the drips have slowed, about 10 to 15 seconds between drips.
  6. Melt white chocolate for 30 seconds, and then 15 seconds each time after until smooth. Dip coated caramel apple in white chocolate about ¾ of the way up so you can still see the top of the caramel. Allow to drip and scrape the bottom of the excess from the bottom. Let the apple set for a bit and then roll the apple in the crushed Oreos.
  7. Place on the prepared baking sheet with the bamboo sticks up to let the caramel and toppings cool and set.
  8. Enjoooooooooooy!
