Dog days of summer have you down? An ultimate homemade fruit-filled treat for the whole family, our Watermelon Float recipe offers a refreshing answer to the mid-summer heat.

Blend sweet watermelon juice with a tart citrus-y lime, mix together with club soda and top off with creamy vanilla ice cream for a treat everyone is sure to love. The hammock is calling.

Watermelon Float
Serves: 3-4
  • 1 small watermelon, flesh scooped out
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 1 small lime, juiced
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • 1 cup club soda
  1. Scoop out watermelon flesh and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve. Discard solids and set aside melon puree.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together sugar and ⅓ cup water until sugar is dissolved. Pour simply syrup into melon puree and add lime juice and salt. Mix together.
  3. Add club soda to melon puree. Divide into tall glasses and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
