Meet Our Accounts Payable Clerk, Sandy Blake

We love to highlight the work that our dedicated employees perform for our business everyday. Without them, we could not create and send delicious gourmet gifts to your loved ones across the nation. A pivotal department here is our accounting team.

We are happy to highlight, Sandy Blake, who works as our trusted Accounts Payable Clerk. Sandy has been working with The Fruit Company for over two years. She started in Customer Service during our 2014 Christmas season then applied to join our accounting team.

Sandy’s father and step mother moved to Hood River in 1966, so she has been visiting this area for years before moving here in the summer of 2014.

When asked why she enjoys working for The Fruit Company, she says, “I enjoy my co-workers and have the most beautiful drive both to work and home. The abundance of fresh fruit is a definite bonus and the Halloween Party is always a lot of fun, with impressive costume competition participation.”

Outside of work, Sandy enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, hiking, camping and making plans to complete her tiny house! The shell of the house is complete and she’s gearing up to start designing and decorating the interior.

We all appreciate Sandy in her work and as a person. Our CFO, Jon Morrill says, “We’ve experienced a lot of growth the last couple years and Sandy has done such a great job keeping our supplier invoices and payments organized.  Sandy keeps her co-workers smiling with a lighthearted sense of humor and an infectious laugh.  We are grateful to have her on the team.”

Thank you to Sandy for her continued great work and the bright smile she brings everyday to The Fruit Company.

The Fruit Company® got its start in 1942 when Roy Webster began selling apples and pears from his orchards located in Hood River, Oregon. The area was perfect for growing fruit thanks to the volcanically enriched soil and glacial water from the nearby Mt. Hood. The fruit was exceptional. The company was passed down from father to son and today is owned and operated by Roy's Grandson Scott Webster.
