Meet our CFO, Jon Morrill

At The Fruit Company, we specialize in putting together incredible fruit gifts with the world’s finest fruit along with delicious gourmet snacks including cheese, meat, nuts, cookies, candy and chocolate. We pride ourselves on being fruit connoisseurs of the 21st century, and in our pursuit to send only the finest fruit and gourmet items, we put our trust in our Chief Financial Officer, Jon Morrill.  Jon’s primary responsibility is to manage the company’s financial resources for daily operating needs and growth initiatives.  His story is one of a love for numbers and new challenges.

After graduating from the University of Washington, Jon started his career in public accounting, preparing financial statements and tax returns for a variety of small businesses. He worked in a community bank for several years before joining The Fruit Company in 2010.  At heart, Jon is an accountant who loves the precision of debits and credits. Nevertheless, he loves working for a growing business like The Fruit Company as it challenges him to stretch himself and is very rewarding.

Jon’s favorite part of working at The Fruit Company, is the opportunity to work with a great team of employees. Every day brings new challenges and things to learn.  Jon says  “on any particular day, our team works together to forecast gift sales for upcoming holidays, schedule activities in our Orchard, complete monthly financial statements, learn and plan website updates, research farming costs for a potential Orchard expansion and more”.

Whenever Jon needs to make a great impression or send a big thank you, his go-to perfect basket is either our Bountiful Harvest or Legacy Cheese Gift Basket.  He is also looking forward to sharing our new 2016 holiday gifts with family and friends.  These holiday gifts will be introduced in the coming weeks and include delicious new gourmet treats and specially selected fruit, along with creative gift box designs.

Everyone at The Fruit Company is very appreciative of Jon’s continued hard work and dedication.

In 1942, Roy Webster began selling apples and pears from his orchards located in Hood River, Oregon. The area was perfect for growing fruit thanks to the volcanically enriched soil and glacial water from the nearby Mt. Hood. The fruit was exceptional. This orchard and fruit growing wisdom was passed down from father to son. In 1999, The Fruit Company was founded by Roy's grandsons, Scott & Addison Webster. Today, Scott runs the business as President and CEO. The Fruit Company packs and ships beautiful fruit gifts around the nation.
